RIG SUPERVISOR Level 3

ROLE:

  • Assist and support the Existing Rig Supervisor in supervising all workover/well intervention operations at the worksite.
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the approved program, company procedures, technical standards, and HSE requirements through coordination with the Existing Superintendent Rig Operations and Rig Supervisor.
  • Monitor critical operations such as pulling/running tubing, well control activities, cementing, acidizing, fracturing, pressure testing, and lifting operations, and provide technical recommendations for performance improvement and risk control.
  • Coordinate with HSE Rig to support and conduct risk control through implementation of Task Risk Assessment (TRA)/Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Permit to Work (PTW), toolbox meetings, and ensure effective barrier management.
  • Support supervision and control of the rig equipment maintenance program, routine inspections, equipment condition recording, check availability of all rigs spare parts and supporting equipment and follow-up of maintenance findings are conducted in accordance with company standards and OEM recommendations, to ensure equipment integrity, reliability, and rig operational readiness.
  • Actively collaborate with the Rig Coach in coaching programs, competency evaluations, and implementation of development plans for the Existing Rig Supervisor and the Rig team.
  • Coordinate with Superintendent Rig Operations, Superintendent Rig Maintenance and Manager Rig Operations in operational performance reporting, identification of improvement areas, and implementation of performance and safety enhancement initiatives.
  • Conduct objective observations of field leadership, risk-based decision making, and procedural compliance, and provide constructive feedback to the Existing Superintendent Rig Operations and Rig Supervisor.
  • Act as an agent of change by driving continuous improvement in operational performance, procedural compliance, work discipline, and safety culture, and reduction of Non-Productive Time (NPT).
  • Serve as a professional role model in integrity, effective communication, risk control, and safety standards implementation in the workplace.
  • Primary accountability for operational execution, safety performance, and decision-making remain with Existing Rig Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Shall have at least ten (10) years of working experience in Drilling and/or Workover Well Services/Well Intervention operations including three (3) years of experience as a Rig Supervisor in Workover & Well Services/Well Intervention. Shall have completed the following qualification requirements (including training schools or certification programs):

  1. Held valid PPSDM MIGAS Ahli Pengendali Perawatan Sumur (APPS) Rig/Hoist Certificate.
  2. Well Control certification (IWCF/IADC) at a minimum of Supervisory Level (preferred)
  3. Minimum Diploma (D3) in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of WOWS operations including well completion, well servicing, POOH/RIH pipe/tubing, killing well, fishing job, rig up/rig down, and mobilization/demobilization
  5. Proficient in well control, operational troubleshooting, and operational decision-making in the field.
  6. Proficient in work safety systems, including PTW, JSA/TRA, HAZID, and Risk Assessment; experienced in emergency response procedures and fire prevention/suppression on rig operations.
  7. Have strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills with relevant stakeholders involved in the works.
  8. Able to serve as a role model in implementing operational discipline, procedural compliance, and HSE culture in the WOWS rig environment.
  9. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. for reporting and analysis purposes.
